Tyche Moving to New Hardware

The web server, tyche, is currently having issues on boot. We’re currently working on moving it to new hardware and should have it back up within the next hour. Check back for updates!

It looks like the machine is completely unresponsive and we are unable to power-cycle it remotely. We have an admin en-route to the data center to check it out.

It looks like this issue is affecting the following ps guests:

blacksun, denarquivista, heyes, mkb, ps4580, ps5118, ps6258, sugarsmacks

no ETA at the moment but unless something is wrong with the hardware (which is possible) it will probably be about an hour until these are back up.

Update 12:59 AM PST: The host is back up and all its guests are running again. Please contact support if you are any of the above guests and still having issues.

Fitzpatrick Initializing

Fitzpatrick has been well, on the fritz today and it seems to be due to the RAID array wanting to start initializing itself. We don’t have a ETA yet on when it will finish and unfortunately there isn’t a way to coax it into finishing more expediciously. We’ll provide an update when it is complete, unfortunately the card in this device doesn’t provide a % of completetion so we won’t know quite how much longer until it’s done.

Multiple Cluster Email Authentiction issues

We’re currently having some issues with our email authentication system. This is causing mail login for many of our customers to not work correctly. Our admin team is aware of this and are already working on restoring service. This should be back up and running shortly. Please keep an eye on this post, as we’ll update it when the issue is resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes you.

Update - 9:55am PST: This issue should be resolved now. We’ve restarted the individual cluster mail services and things seem to be running smoothly now. We’ve tested several of the affected mailboxes and have verified that they are working. If you continue to have issues, it was likely not related to this incident and you should contact support for further assistance.

It looks like this server may not have an optimal distribution of usage (meaning it seem to be getting hit with a lot of usage at the same time which keeps spiking the load) so we are moving some customers off to help with that. Please be patient with this process as the moves will also add to the server load (but once we have completed the process over the next week or so the performance should improve and we’ll be watching to make sure that it does).

It looks like the web-server ‘avalanche’ was unresponsive and did not come back up after being remotely power-cycled. We have dispatched someone to the data center to check out what the problem is.

Update: 02:39 AM PST: The issue has been resolved and the server is booting now. it should be complete back up within 10 minutes.

Update: 02:45 AM PST: Ok, All services on this machine should be 100% restored. If you are on avalanche and still having any issues please contact support.

Something tripped the circuit that these machines were on and the breaker had to be reset despite not being in any way overloaded. They’re back up now and we have a datacenter technician looking into the cause of it.
